Pupils attached to the sensory resource have very individual needs. Some of our pupils are non-verbal and use PECS (picture exchange communication system) Makaton signing and objects of reference as their means of communication.

Depending on their ability and level of visual impairment pupils are offered training in touch-typing, Braille and Moon. A total communication system, including the use of BSL, Makaton and PECS, is used for pupils who have a significant hearing impairment.
